The Legal Committee’s funcion is to provide accurate and comprehensive legal information, assistance and advice to CISAC’s members and to its statutory bodies.
The Committee acts in an advisory capacity. Its 20 members are lawyers who work for member societies and are involved on a regular basis in collective administration. They are nominated by their societies and elected by the Board of Directors for a three-year term. Appropriate representation from different regions and repetoires must be reflected in the Committee’s composition.
The Legal Committee’s agenda is drawn up in consultation with the Committee’s Chair and the Director General.
