International Council of Creators of Music (CIAM)

CIAM is the forum for all creators of music and lyrics regardless of genre. It deals with matters that are specifically related to the interests and status of creators of music and to their collective management organisations.

CIAM emphasises cooperation, networking and exchange of information, best practices, experience, ideas and practical advice in order to defend music creators and improve their professional environment.

These are some examples of activities in which CIAM is engaged:

-UNESCO Convention on Cultural Diversity,
-implementation of the European Directive on copyright and related rights in the information society,
-contractual relations between authors and publishers,
-the distribution of royalties for online use of works,
-the effects of music industry mergers on authors,
-the CIS Musical Network,
-Standing on questions regarding moral rights and remunerative rights
